Somerset is a family owned and operated Outdoor Learning Centre. We recognise the pivotal aspect of our outdoor staff and the need to foster an atmosphere where our group leaders are working to their full potential in a supportive environment, so as to deliver the best educational programme possible to all our clients. Somerset understands that a good outdoor leader is critical in providing a safe and rewarding outdoor experience to all those in contact with our camp. We also endeavour to nurture this attitude amongst our food services, logistics, administration and ground staff - as their role too, is critical in the success of our operation.

Our group leaders hold relevant tertiary outdoor qualifications and are certified to industry standard first aid. We pride ourselves in our professional nature and approach to all of our programmes, striving for the best we can be. All Somerset staff have all passed an in-house induction which focuses on the company's values and goals as well as logistical training, activity familiarisation, safety, group facilitation and child protection – just to name a few! This holistic approach to training equips our staff with the essential skills needed in our outdoor environment.
